Holiday Weekend

This weekend was a little bit of a tough one for us. Alaina continues to be stable and is happy hanging out where she is. There have been no major leaps ahead in her progress and no major setbacks. We are thrilled of course with the fact that she is stable but frustrated as well at the lack of progress forward.

Saturday was her first holiday and it was really hard to not have her with us. She had a little outfit that we bought and she was supposed to be home with us wearing it. We were supposed to be enjoying the day with our new daughter, laughing and loving, not driving home from Eggleston's empty handed. We came in and just sat there together, trying to ignore all of the fireworks outside. Normally we love the fireworks but our hearts weren't in it this year. This was just not the way that it was supposed to be.

Please don't misunderstand, we are so happy that she's doing okay. We praise Jesus for all of the progress that she has made so far. We belive whole heartedly that He can heal our baby girl. We still have a long road ahead though and right now, we're both so exhausted and emotionally drained that we can't see straight.

We continue to ask for your prayers for Alaina to be healed. Will you also pray for strength and peace for Scotlon and I? We want to remain focused on the positive and not let anything steal our joy in the progress that Alaina has made. I've included the newest picture of our girl-her daddy brought in pink mittens instead of those yucky white hospital ones.

Matthew 11:28- "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

Love,
Stephanie

Thank you for the update. I will continue to ask our great Savior that He strengthens you and Scotlon through this time. You two are already such awesome parents! His strength is sufficient for you! Your faith through this rough time has been an incredible encouragement to me! Take heart...for He shall give you "wings like eagles!"

Love ya!

Dear Jesus,

Please take Stephanie and Scotlon in Your arms and give them Amazing Grace. Help them as they deal with things we can't even imagine. Guide them in their frustration and provide them with peace. Let their hearts pour out in tears to You so that in the end, Your Glory will be all any of us can see.

Please keep your awesome and mighty hand on baby Alaina as she continues to hold her own. Give her the strength to fight forward. Help her know that her mommy and daddy love her so much and want nothing more than for her to be well.

And LORD, please be with the Grandparents, the friends and the neighbors that sit and pray daily, hourly, sometimes every minute for this precious baby and her precious family.

We love you so much LORD and we know that Stephanie and Scotlon love you too. They just want their baby girl home and healthy.

Thank you for your continued blessings and may your Glory shine through as none of us understand what's happening, but You are a mighty and awesome God.

We will praise Your name!

In Your name we pray, we love you Lord...

Love,
Stephanie & Scotlon's friends

Steph,

Glad to hear that Alaina is still improving. Sometimes its really hard for us to live God's will, especially when it doesn't match our will.

Our prayers continue for Alaina's full healing as well as strength for you & Scotlon.

Much love,
Allison

We really missed you, Scotlon & Alaina in Elberton this weekend, ma’am! Our annual Fourth of July weekend wasn’t quite the same without y’all. We are looking forward to spending Labor Day weekend with your beautiful family of three as usual though; maybe we could even arrange for some celebratory fireworks for that weekend’s festivities =)!

The Lord is and will continue to carry you through this.. nothing is too far from His grasp, always remember that! *smiles* You know where to find me.. please keep me posted! ..Just another part of the Body =)

Alaina is beautiful! You guys are in our prayers! Those trips back and forth to the hospital are draining and that is not even including those emotional and stressful talks with the doctors and nurses! Don't apologize for how you are feeling! You are being so strong and your faith is evident! We have an incredible Savior that calls us to come just as we are! He is right there with you! It is okay to cry and to lean on Him, each other, and the family and friends He has provided you for strength! You will continue to be in my prayers!

In HIM,

Stephanie,
I think of you often and pray that you will have the strength to know that even though "it wasn't supposed to be this way", God will help you to know that He has a plan and He has a reason. Although I did not have to deal with issues to the extent that you have had, I can completely relate. Having Asher early and with him staying in the NICU for 5 days was enough for me. I kept asking WHY? It wasn't supposed to be like this! I know that you will find peace that only God can provide. I will continue to pray for you and your new family!
Sending much Love,
Krista
